Terraced layout, lawns with lilies, beds of flowers and many more features sum up the botanical gardens in Ooty. Spread over 22 acres, this garden is divided into six sections, each having its own features. Dodabetta (meaning Big Mountain) Peak is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri and has a reserved forest area surrounding it. From atop the peak, the scenic beauty of Ooty can be viewed to one’s content. A visit to Ooty is incomplete without a boating at the famed Ooty Lake, an artificial lake. Engulfed by groves of eucalyptus trees and an “attention grabbing” railway line on one shore, this place is hosts boat races every year.
